Okay, I bought another sports jersey. A #21 Asomugha model, Oakland Raiders, white, retails for about $260.00 and I paid $41.98, so sue me. The first step in overcoming an addiction is admitting you have a problem.
Phhhhbbbbbttttttttttt. Savings, my peeps, are savings. Besides, Asomugha is one of my favorite players and definitely my number one for this year's edition of the Raiders, so what the bleep ever.
I'm also going to be registering for the 2010 San Francisco Writer's Convention, to be held February 12-14 and my wife is not going to let me get out of this. "It's an investment in your career," she told me sternly. "Besides, I can write it off on our taxes."
Open mic readings. Over 100 editorial, agent-y and writer types. 80+ workshops. Contests. Agent speed-dating. Face time, held one-on-one. Big gala party to close it all out.
I'm doing it. It'll cost $545.00, but hey... it's an investment in the future.

RE: Convention... DO IT! Then come visit me in Berkeley during a break (or, hell, I can come visit you ;). It *is* an investment in your career, and it sounds like fun :) We, your adoring fans, require a full write up after you go, too.
RE Convention: I am, trust me, I am. I will most likely be punching my ticket next week, and I'm pretty sure that we could have dinner and drinks at some point along the way during that weekend. You bring Max, I'll bring Connie (who will be safe and sound while I am "working" with Jim Butcher novels and a nice hotel room) and having a catch-up session sounds pretty good.
I wince at the price, but Connie says I am not allowed to back out, so looks like I am in for it. And I'm really hoping the story that I'll post about it will have a nice ending :)
